AUSTIN - WCS filed the complaint with the Texas Ethics Commission on Thursday and company officials say the "No Bonds for Billionaires" campaign was funded completely by an Austin environmental group and not residents in Andrews.

The complaint alleges Karen Hadden from the SEED Coalition, funded the campaign that was designed to smear the county bond election.

That 75-million dollar bond passed by only three votes back in May and will fund WCS's new dump for low-level radioactive waste.

WCS claims Hadden was named campaign treasurer two days after the election, and tried to conceal that ''No Bonds for Billionaires'' was funded from an out of town source.

NewsWest 9 has tried to reach Hadden for comment, but has been unable to reach her.

Earlier this week, WCS filed a lawsuit against a New Mexico attorney who started the group "Save the Ogallala.''

The company says "Save the Ogallala" has been spreading lies and rumors about the waste site to hurt their business.
