TEA Parties Planned in Odessa, Crane

WEST TEXAS - Some West Texas residents say they are re-declaring their independence this Fourth of July and they're doing it with more TEA party protests. TEA stands for "taxed enough already."

A TEA party will be held in Odessa on Saturday from noon to 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Park across from Music City Mall. Several speakers will be on hand.

Saturday evening folks in Crane will gather at Freedom Park near 6th and Alford streets. Organizers say the event will be going on from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and will include music, speeches and singing.

TEA parties have been held across the country and here in the Permian Basin to protest the recent surge in government spending under the Obama administration.
