MIDLAND - Greener, cleaner oil production is on the horizon and area oil producers are now one step closer to knowing all the ends and outs.
Around 65 oil producers were in attendance for the Energy and Environmental Conference.
With the new administration in Washington, many regulatory and policy changes are in the works along with stricter enforcement.
A spokesperson with WellStar explains that they host these educational seminars across the country to get independent oil producers all on the same page.
"So when we were done we are operating faster and smarter than we ever have and it's also really about the green in the bottom line we have to do better at what we do," WellStar CEO, Jake Baker, said.
"We are in a situation where the new administration has put up enough money to start policing the energy business and we have to come into compliance for all of these issues that are going to be facing us in the future," Walter King with King Oil, said.
WellStar employees tell NewsWest 9, they work with independent producers to become in compliance with regulations now, so they don't face fines later down the road.
