Howard Commissioners Want Change in Mineral Values

HOWARD COUNTY - Howard County is asking the state to take a hard look at its valuations for oil and gas.

The Commissioners Court passed a resolution Monday morning asking the state to reconsider its appraisal of minerals.

Current valuations take effect in September and are $400 million lower than in the past in Howard County. That could affect the amount of tax dollars the county and other governments take in.

Ector county has already passed a similar resolution.
