Big Spring Officials Say Water is Safe Despite Odor

BIG SPRING - Big Spring officials are assuring residents that the city's water supply is safe after receiving numerous complaints that the water has a strange odor.

The city says the odor is a common occurrence in the summer and is temporary. The city is also dealing with an excessive demand for water due to the hot and dry weather.

The increased demand has caused the city to limit the flushing of water lines and hydrants to emergencies only.

The city will resume flushing lines as soon as possible.
