MIDLAND - School kids in Midland will be sitting in their desks a little longer next fall.

The Elementary School day is being extended by 20 minutes.

The District's decision means the bell will ring ten minutes earlier next school year and dismissal will be ten minutes later.

We're told they're extending the school day to give students more time to learn.

The decision doesn't apply to magnet or secondary schools who already have a longer day.
