A Martin County man accused of shooting at a family member will be in Federal Court later this week.
Neil McMorries is scheduled for a federal detention hearing in Midland.
Authorities say McMorries shot at a family member back in may as he passed him on FM 1212 near Tarzan.
Earlier this week, NewsWest 9 reported that McMorries is a convicted felon. Since our story ran we have learned that is not true.
He was convicted of a family violence charge in the 1990's, which like a felony, prohibits him from having weapons.
Authorities say McMorries had guns in his home when he was arrested by Martin County Deputies.
