Big Spring City Council Trying to Tackle Two Big Issues

BIG SPRING - The Big Spring City Council met Tuesday evening trying to tackle to big issues.

The council discussed what to do about the city's aging municipal pool. The pool was shut down just before summer because it does not meet ADA requirements or a new federal law regulating drain covers.

The pool is 80 years old and the council is looking at the possibility of replacing the pool rather than fixing the old one.

The council also started discussing how to give the Big Spring Police Department a little more breathing room. The second floor of the police headquarters is an old jail and could be renovated into office space. The police department is currently running out of room.

The council will continue working on both of these issues at later council meetings.
