Howard College Plans Homecoming for JuCo Champs

BIG SPRING - A homecoming celebration is on tap for the Howard College Hawks after winning the 2009 JuCo World Series Tournament Friday night in Grand Junction, Colorado.  The Hawks are scheduled to arrive in Big Spring, Texas at approximately 7pm Sunday and will be escorted through the town before arriving at the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum on the campus of Howard College.

The team will be met north of town on Hwy 87 by local law enforcement and will be escorted through town on Greg Street down to FM 700.  They will then go east on FM 700 and come back north on Birdwell Lane to reach the coliseum.  All fans are encouraged to help celebrate the team as they make their way across town.

A free hot dog dinner will be made available at the coliseum while fans have the opportunity to welcome home their champions, meet their Hawks, get autographs, and much much more.

"The entire community has been so supportive of the Hawks and we want everyone to come to the coliseum and help us celebrate their monumental achievement," said Dr. Cheryl T. Sparks, Howard College President.
