Big Spring Teen Dies from Injuries Suffered During Weekend Shooting

BIG SPRING - Big Spring Police are now investigating a homicide after a 16-year-old, who was shot in the head, died over the weekend.

Police tell NewsWest 9, a fight broke out and someone fired several shots early Saturday morning on Cardinal Street.

16-year-old Justin Hernandez of Big Spring was shot in the head and died Saturday in a Lubbock hospital.

17-year-old Richard Pineda was shot in the foot and treated in Big Spring.

No arrests have been made yet and police are continuing their investigation.
