MIDLAND - Downtown development in Midland gets backed by the City Council.
The City Council approved a million dollar agreement between the Midland Development Corporation and the Permian Plaza L.L.C., along with its parent company, Basic Energy Services.
Permian Plaza will include a state of the art parking garage that will hold more than 400 cars.
Mayor Wes Perry tells NewsWest 9, he hopes the project will bring economic development and add to the quality of life in the downtown area.
The development is designed to bring new stores, restaurants, and office space to downtown.
Just last week, the Midland Development Corporation approved a two million dollar deal for Permian Plaza.
