BIG SPRING - For 14-year-old Brady Weber repainting an 80's mural isn't how he normally spends his weekends.

"I've been doing it for over a year now," Weber said.

Weber is working hard, re-painting an old wall to earn something he's been wanting all his life, his Eagle Scout rank.

"When people drive by it people are like that looks nice, it also might keep people to stay in Big Spring, I just want to make it more beautiful," Weber said.

But Weber's not the only one with a paint brush in his hand, slowly recreating what used to be a masterpiece.

Several high school volunteers are also taking part in it.

"We've been just painting, scraping holes, cleaning debris from the walls. There's just not a lot of stuff to do here, so doing projects will help them get out of trouble," Volunteer Tiffany Garcia, said.

While it may take more than a few days to complete, the entire project to those who know Weber well say, it's a job guaranteed to get done.

"I can tell you that he's very dedicated to what he does, and sticks to his plans. A kid like him doesn't usually do things like this. I think it's a good part in his life," Garcia said.

"It's something that's important to me, and I don't want to just quit. I want to finish it," Weber said.
