On Friday, the Texas House passed the reliever route bill.
Tryon Lewis authored the legislation in an effort to unite the city and county into an agreement building the new 13 mile loop around the city.
Officials tell NewsWest 9, everyday about 800 trucks roll down Highway 385 and the new roadway will relieve that congestion.
It's a project estimated at about 12 million dollars.
There's no word yet on when crews will get started.
