MONAHANS - Thanks to the wind, the City of Monahans is paying quite a bit less on their power bill.
Several months ago, the city installed two small wind turbines at their waste water treatment plant.
The City Manager says it's saving a chunk of change.
So far, they've reduced the bills by 25 percent each month.
They're hoping that by the end of the year, it will be a forty percent reduction, about $28,000 each year.
The manager has been fielding calls from all over the country from other cities wanting to find out how it all works.
These turbines were the first to be constructed in Ward County.
