BIG SPRING - The City of Big Spring has reported a wastewater spill. The city says 1.3 million gallons of wastewater spilled onto 10 acres of land on Radio Tower Road.

It happened Monday afternoon around 2:00. The spill was caused by a leak in a 16 inch main that caused a lift station to shut down.

Local officials as well as the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality have been notified.

The city says it is waiting for materials to repair the 16 inch main. No public or private water supplies have been affected.
