MIDLAND - Midland firefighters say they may never know what started a house fire early Monday morning.

The blaze broke out in the 3500 block of Imperial, around 4:45a.m.

We're told the blaze started alongside a fence and spread quickly to the unoccupied house and then reached the attic.

It took firefighters about 20 minutes to put out the blaze.

The attic sustained some fire damage.
The rest of the house had smoke and water damage.

No one was hurt.
