Pecos Zoo to Stay Open, Hospital District to Expand

PECOS - Voters in Pecos and Reeves County approved two issues Saturday.

52% of Pecos voters voted to keep the city's zoo open. The city wanted to know what voters thought about keep the small zoo operating since new federal guidlines will cost Pecos more money in the future.

Reeves County voters approved a $5.6 million bond for the local hospital. 53% said "yes" to the bond, which will fund a new rural healthcare center and buy new equipment for the hospital.
