WEST ODESSA - A late night fire call in West Odessa lands a man behind bars.

Firefighters found more than one kind of smoke when answering that call.

45-year-old Abel Dutchover was arrested for having pot plants in his house.

The fire call came out a little before ten on Thursday night at the corner of Westcliff and Citation.
When West Odessa fire crews went to check if anyone was inside the home, they found 21 marijuana plants.

Deputies found another two dozen plants in a nearby travel trailer.

Dutchover, who wasn't home at the time, showed up while deputies were investigating.

He could face federal drug charges, but for now he's back on the street after paying a 500 dollar bond.
