MIDLAND COUNTY - Chromium-contaminated well water in Midland County is the subject of a community-wide meeting this weekend.
An environmental consultant will be in town to take a closer look at the high levels of chromium near County Road 112.
State officials first told residents about the contamination in April.
Since then, T.C.E.Q. workers have been installing water filters at nearby homes.
Some locals say, the high levels of chromium may not be limited to their area and are invited Midlanders to a meeting.
The meeting will be held this Sunday at 2 at the Midland Horseshoe Education Building.
In addition, organizers say plans are in the works to hold a meeting with activist Erin Brockovich later this month.
