AUSTIN - The debate over a West Texas water supply district continues in Austin this week.

The Senate Companion Bill to House Bill 4805 written by Kel Seliger establishes the water district and would help Clayton Williams pipeline water from Fort Stockton to Midland.

Last week, the Mayor of Fort Stockton testified against a house bill authored by Tom Craddick at the Natural Resource Committee hearing.

The Mayor argues the bill is too far reaching and will effect the city's water supply.

Clayton Williams owns land above an aquifer in Fort Stockton and would need additional permits to move the water to Midland.

The Intergovernmental Relations Comittee Hearing is set for Wednesday.
