MIDLAND - Erin Brockovich and her consultants will soon pay a visit to Midland residents after Texas officials report a high level of chromium in county water.
Midlander Kay Sathre lives near County Road 112 where the contamination was first reported a few weeks ago.
At least 12 homes have been sampled for chromium.
Since then, TCEQ workers have been installing filters in resident's wells.
That work is expected to continue this week.
No word on a source yet, but Sathre says she is helping to organize a meeting for residents to talk with Erin Brockovich next Saturday.
If you live in the area and don't have a filter yet, you're advised not to drink the well water and to take short showers.
