Big Bend Fiesta Cancelled Due to Swine Flu Concerns

PRESIDIO - This weekend's Fiesta at Big Bend Ranch State Park has been cancelled due to concerns about the swine flu.

There have been no reported cases of swine flu in the Big Bend area, but officials say cancelling The Fiesta is a proactive step to keep the public safe.

The Fiesta, which would have included food, park tours and activities, was organized to showcase the new Big Bend Ranch State Park. The park remains open to the public with free admission and overnight camping Friday through Sunday.

Officials are discussing how and when to reschedule the event, and that decision will be announced at a later time.
