Ector Officials: No Confirmed Swine Flu Cases in County

ODESSA - Officials held a press conference Wednesday afternoon to reassure the public that there are no confirmed swine flu cases in Ector County.

Health officials also wanted the public to know they are closely following the spread of the flu and have resources in place if West Texas is affected.

The Health Department says this weekend's Fiesta West Texas will go on as planned in Odessa. They have asked organizers to provide hand sanitizing stations at the yearly event.

Ector County ISD officials said they are prepared to close schools if they have to, but are hoping it will not come to that. ECISD says they are being guided by information by local and state health officials.

NewsWest 9 will have a full report on the press conference on NewsWest9 at 4,5 and 6.
