WEST TEXAS - Even with a burst of humidity, the Texas Forest Service tells NewsWest 9, we're still not in the clear just yet.

The Texas Forest Service formed a task force at the beginning of the month bringing in extra resources into West Texas.

As of Tuesday, there's about 30 personnel on hand, four tractor plow units, and 3 planes ready to strike if a fire breaks out.

They've also sent resources down to the Fort Stockton and Van Horn areas.

Right now, most of the area is in the moderate to high level danger threat.

In just the past few days, they've assisted local fire crews put out about three fires around West Texas.
