Forest Service Investigating Howard County Blaze

HOWARD COUNTY - The Texas Forest Serivce is investigating a fire in Howard County that scorched 40 acres. 

Howard County Fire Marshal Tommy Sullivan tells NewsWest 9 someone was burning debris and the fire got out of control on Wednesday. He asked the Texas Forest Service to take a close look at the blaze.            

An unoccupied home near the Knott community was destroyed by the flames. Sullivan says the fire was a violation of the burn ban and no one is claiming responsibility for starting it.
