Some of the staff at Pecos Memorial Hospital will be getting a pink slip.
Hospital officials will be laying off workers.
Administrators tell NewsWest Nine, the number of patients coming into the hospital has fallen by up to 40 percent.
In order to make ends meet, around 20 positions will now have to go.
A staff meeting was held on Wednesday to let employees know.
Some of the cuts have already been made, but the rest will happen by May 1st.
Administrators say the cutbacks have nothing to do with the recent failure of hospital district proposal.
