The search for a man wanted in connection with the gruesome murder of an Odessa woman is now over.
Authorities in Los Angeles alerted Midland Police that they found the body of 39-year-old Deondre Smith inside an SUV parked on the south side of town.
Police say smith died of an apparant gun shot wound to the head.
His body was identified through fingerprints on Sunday morning.
Smith was accused of strangling his 20-year-old girlfriend, Sheeva Sharda Miller.
Midland Police found Miller's body stuffed inside the trunk of Smith's Cadillac parked inside a self-storage unit, leased under his name, on Thursday morning.
Police say family members received text and other messages from Smith saying he killed Miller.
After four days on the run, Smith was found dead.
The victim's family members say they received word on Sunday.
Funeral arrangements for Miller are set for Wednesday.
