ODESSA- Police confirmed what Sheeva Sharda Miller's family feared most when they found the young Odessa woman's body in the trunk of her boyfriend's Cadillac in a self-storage unit in Midland around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday Morning.
"She was just beginning to live her life," Miller's Aunt, Catherine Murry said. "This might not have happened if she listened and walked away--- Of course she wanted to, but she didn't know how."

Midland Police say the prime suspect is 39-year-old Deondre Smith. Police say Smith sent text messages to Miller's family saying he killed Sheeva on Wednesday evening.

"I wasn't shocked. I knew he was very capable of doing that," Murry said.

Miller's family wants people to know the way they remember her.

"Joyful, Cheerful, Liked to have fun," Murry said.

"Even though she's gone, she's not forgotten. You know the family, we miss her," Miller's cousin, Xerxs Murry said.

Miller graduated from Permian High School in Odessa in 2006. She was an only child and had no children.

Xerxs Murry hopes other women will walk away from abusive relationships before it's too late.

"It's not worth the pain that's left behind," Murry said with his face quivering.
