Woman's Body Found In Midland Storage Unit

MIDLAND -- Midland Police are searching for a suspect after a 21-year-old woman's body was found in a Midland storage unit.

Officials tell NewsWest 9, the victim is Sheeva Sharda Miller, of Odessa. 

Authorities say the suspect, 39-year-old Deondre Smith, sent Miller's family text messages with information about her death and the body's location around 8:30 on Wednesday night.

Midland Police discovered her body around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, at the U-Stor located at 315 N. Midland Drive.  Police say she was in the trunk of Smith's Cadillac and in a storage unit leased under Smith's name.

Authorities have ordered an autopsy, however, preliminary reports suggest she was strangled.

The last time anyone saw Miller was back on April 7 in Odessa.  Authorities say she is from Odessa and Smith had just moved from Midland to Odessa. Officials also said that Miller and Smith were seeing each other.

A warrant has been issued for Smith's arrest.  He is wanted on First Degree Murder Charges.

Officials are unsure if he is even in the area. He is believed to be armed and dangerous.
