Strong Winds Gust Across Permian Basin

Winds were strong enough Thursday to push over a mobile home that was being moved in Ector County.

WEST TEXAS - Strong winds reduced visibilities and caused problems across the Permian Basin on Thursday.

Several small fires been reported including one on Highway 176 in Howard County Thursday morning. That fire threatened three homes for a time, but was put out.

Power outages were also reported in the Big Spring area due to the wind.

In western Ector Couty, a double wide mobile home was blown off a trailer that was transporting it on FM 866 near Interstate 20 around 11:00 a.m. The trailer was torn apart as it came to a rest on the overpass.
