FORT STOCKTON- Alamo Elementary Principal Lorenzo Flores resigned on Monday amid allegations he had inappropriate contact with a handful of faculty members.

Fort Stockton Independent School District started looking into the allegations when the surfaced March 31st. During the investigation district officials took statements from eight different district employees. The investigation is now being turned over to the State Board for Educators Certification, a branch of the Texas Education Agency that handles Educators Certification.

"You send them to school and you really don't know what's going on there really," Mary Lou Benavides, a grandmother in Fort Stockton said she wants to see Lorenzo lose his credentials.

"[I don't want Flores to] go from here to some other place to go to work," Benavides said. "No, not with kids around because that's a bad influence."
Parents like Christina Zuniga expect more from a school administrator.

"This is my son and he'll be going to Alamo next year," Zuniga said, holding her son who will start kindergarten next year, "That's not a good example for a principal. Especially a principal."

One time Fort Stockton I.S.D. Intermediate Principal Joe Baker has been named Interim Principal for Alamo Elementary, effective immediately.

"We have a sister in school, we don't want that to happen again," Ft. Stockton Resident Anthony Vigil, said.
