Grassfire Near Hobbs 100% Contained

NEAR HOBBS, NEW MEXICO - New Mexico firefighters have been putting out hotspots on a massive grassfire that erupted on Monday.

The fire was finally put out around 11:30 Monday night, but not before it scorched 9,000 acres.   

The Lea County Fire Marshal tells NewsEest 9, the fire burned only one building, the old truck stop along State Road 529.
