HOBBS, NEW MEXICO - A Hobbs man will stand trial for first-degree murder for allegedly shooting a man during a drunken brawl.

25-year-old Aubrey Savage remains behind bars facing charges of first-degree murder along with felon in possession of a firearm.

Authorities say the charges are connected to a shooting in a dance hall back in January.

Witnesses have testified Savage shot a Mississippi construction worker in the back.

A judge has ruled there is enough evidence for Savage to stand trial.
