GAINES COUNTY - A Gaines County man is behind bars in New Mexico for speeding through Gaines County and leading police on a wild chase that ended in Hobbs.

The Gaines County Sheriff's Office tells NewsWest 9, 51-year-old Willie Burke sped past a deputy at 95 miles an hour.

Six Gaines deputies were called out and the chase ensued across the border into Hobbs.

We're told that's where Burke found Hobbs police waiting for him with stop sticks.

They blew out both tires, but even that didn't stop him until he reached the Town and Country on east Marland.

Burke will be taken back to Gaines County to face charges.
