BIG SPRING - The drug violence plaguing Mexican cities rained out a trip for Big Spring City leaders.

Just three months ago, Big Spring adopted San Miguel, Mexico as their sister city.

Since the partnership began, officials from both cities have been working together and had planned to visit with San Miguel leaders.

Mayor Russ McEwen organized the trip and he says they're planning to wait until the violence subsides before they schedule a visit.
