From the Odessa Police Department:

ODESSA - On Saturday, March 21, 2009, the Odessa Police Department will be providing a funeral procession escort for Odessa City Councilman Mike Sanchez and his family. The Odessa Police Department would like to advise the motoring public that two separate escorts will be conducted at different times which may cause a delay in traffic flow along the routes.

This Saturday at 1:15 PM the procession will begin at Frank Wilson Funeral Home at 4635 Oakwood, and travel North from Oakwood on Parkway to East 52nd street. West on 52nd street to North Grandview, then North on Grandview to St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic church at 7601 North Grandview for a 2:00 PM service.

Upon conclusion of the services, the procession will travel South on Grandview to Yukon, where it will turn East on Yukon to proceed to the East Loop 338. The procession will travel South on the East Loop 338 and will turn East upon reaching the intersection of the South Service Road of 191. The procession will then turn South on Billy Hext Road and continue until it meets with the B-20 Service Road. The procession will travel West bound until it enters the Sunset Memorial Gardens entrance.

There will be several fire trucks and police vehicles pre positioned at intersections to control traffic as the procession occurs. The Odessa Police Department requests that the public find alternative routes during processions as it is expected there will be a large assembly of family, friends, and dignitaries.
