Mariana Veloso

Mariana Veloso is a Digital Content Producer that works primarily on the weekends. She has worked in news since 2015 at the Odessa American as a freelance writer and a copydesk editor. She joined the NewsWest 9 team in February 2018. Her main project at NewsWest 9 is the Basin Buzz newsletter and her favorite story that she has written for NewsWest 9 is “Lamesa girl faces 3 brain surgeries in 24 hours.” Mariana is originally from Brazil but lived most of her life in sunny Yuma, Arizona. She is a Permian High School graduate and she is currently working on her Bachelors Degree in Communication and minoring in Multicultural Studies at UTPB.
