Robert Segovia

Robert Segovia was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He joined the NewsWest 9 team in January 2019 as a multi-skilled journalist. Robert graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor's Degree in journalism and telecommunications from the College of Communication, Information and Media. While in college, Robert joined WCRD, a student-run radio station founded by David Letterman. While there, he was the executive producer and social media director of the news team, and also hosted a sports talk show called, "The Fantasy Express." Robert joined The Reel Deal, a student-run entertainment show. There, he was the social media director, segment producer, and host of a music talk show called, "The Rob and Rob Show." Robert landed two internships before graduating, one at Top Deck Media in Des Moines, and ABC 6 in Columbus, Ohio. Robert is a die-hard Chicago sports fan. He loves watching the Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, and Cubs. He loves playing baseball and tennis in his spare time. Robert is a hip hop and rock fan. He is a saxophonist who has won 5 first-place awards at Northwestern University. He is a poet, who has won three city slams. Robert loves hanging out with friends, traveling, and catching up on Netflix and Hulu shows whenever he isn't working. He is excited to cover the Permian Basin and tell the stories of the community.
