REEVES COUNTY, Texas — UPDATE: As of 4:45 p.m., both north and southbound lanes of Hwy 285 have reopened.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Reeves County Sheriff's Office is warning drivers about two crashes on North Highway 285.

The first crash happened Friday morning near the area of CR 432, north of Pecos.

A second crash occurred later, around seven miles south of Orla.

The sheriff's office says lane closures and delays will be expected throughout the day. DPS is working both crashes.

A county spokesperson says drivers heading south on Hwy 285 should make a right-hand turn onto TX 652 leading to TX 219 to go back into Pecos for a detour.

North-bound drivers on 285 should make a right-hand turn on TX 302 to head back to CR 300, then onto 652 to reconnect back to 285 after the crashes.

Drivers in the area are asked to use caution and drive safely.

At this time there is no word on the nature of the crashes or if anyone has been injured, except that AeroCare has been dispatched to help.
