Midland police arrest suspect in deadly stabbing at HomeTowne Studios

Raven Robert Rodriguez was booked into the Midland County Detention Center and charged with capital murder.

MIDLAND, Texas — Midland police confirmed late Friday night that they arrested the suspect in a deadly stabbing at the HomeTowne Studios on Midkiff Road.

Raven Robert Rodriguez, 30, was wanted for capital murder.

The incident occurred around 5 a.m. Thursday morning.

According to an MPD spokesperson, officers were dispatched to the motel in reference to a disturbance.

When they got to the scene, officers found a female identified as Mariela Galindo Lozano, 28, dead with multiple stab wounds.

An affidavit shows Rodriguez kicked Lozano's door in an attempt to assault her. She was stabbed as she tried to escape the room.

Investigation revealed that the suspect involved was Rodriguez.

An autopsy was requested and next of kin has been notified.

Rodriguez was booked into the Midland County Detention Center and charged with capital murder.
