BIG LAKE - New details involving an investigation a teacher-student relationship in Big Lake.
The Sheriff's Department tells NewsWest Nine, no criminal charges have been filed.
According to Superintendent Marshall Harrison, an internal investigation began one week ago.
The district's legal council uncovered inappropriate text messages between softball coach January Blackwell and a 16-year-old student.
Shortly after a meeting with the teen's parent and the coach, January Blackwell resigned.
At this point, the district has turned the investigation over to the Sheriff's Department and the Texas Education Agency, and because there's an underage student involved county authorities can't release any other details at this time.
