
We now know what caused a northeast Amarillo home to explode over the weekend.
Firefighters say natural gas pooled underneath the home in the 1400 block of Northeast 16th for quite some time.
On Sunday, it ignited. As for what caused the gas to spark the investigation continues.
The family was inside the home when it exploded but they did not suffer any serious injuries.

Amarillo - Fortune smiled upon one Amarillo family as they escape a home explosion with only minor injuries.
Crews were cleaning up past ten o'clock last night in the 1400 block of Northeast 16th where a gas explosion destroyed a house.
Just before two o'clock this afternoon, firefighters responded to a reported fire with three people inside the home.
One of the occupants, the father, was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries and two others were not injured.
He is expected to be released in the morning.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.
