Former Hartley coach sentenced

A former Hartley ISD teacher and coach will spend the next eight years in prison for indecency with a child.

56-year-old Ronald Alvin Thompson pleaded guilty to two felony counts and because he pleaded guilty.Three other felony counts were dismissed.

District attorney David Green says Thompson opted to have the jury decide his sentence, which they did earlier Tuesday evening.

Green says Thompson victimized two girls ages 13 and 17.
