MIDLAND - It's the kind of problem you don't hear about everyday, human trafficking.

But some West Texans are looking to raise thousands of dollars to fight a problem both across the country and right here in Texas.

Organizers for "Walk to Stop Child Trafficking" held their inaugural 5K walk at Citibank Ballpark.

They say the goal is to raise money and awareness for all of those who are sold into forced labor, prostitution, or another forms of slavery.

On Saturday, organizers pointed out how human trafficking is the fastest growing criminal industry in the world.

Organizers also tell NewsWest 9, they are looking for donations and sponsors.

Their goal is to raise $25,000.
