ODESSA - Odessa's wide open spaces make it a prime location for some of Hollywood's most notable directors, and now the historical Meteor Crater is what's catching their eyes.
"Odessa is one of two meteorites in the Country. One is in Arizona. It seems like a logical place for 'Meteorite Men' to come," Meteor Expert, Geofrey Notkin, said.
Los Angeles based production comapny, LMNO, is treking to West Texas to film a new reality show called 'Meteorite Men.' They say Odessa's 550 feet crater is sure to be a big hit.
"This is one of the best locations on the planet. There's only a handful of places where they actually have craters that's been hit by a huge impact. There are bodies of meteors laying around," Notkin said.
The new reality series which will air on the Discovery-Science Channel will document two men and their journey around the country studying meteorites.
"Anyone who likes science adventure. We're trying to blend our passion for adventure with healthy dose of science. It gives us clues about our origin," Steve Arnold and Geofrey Notkin, said.
LMNO productions will be filming in Odessa all week. The new series 'Meteorite Men' will begin airing in January.
