SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico lawmaker Janice Arnold-Jones says she has decided to seek the Republican nomination for governor next year.
Arnold-Jones is in her fourth term in the state House of Representatives. She is from a district in northeast Albuquerque.
The other announced GOP candidate for governor is Dona Ana County District Attorney Susana Martinez.
Other Republicans considering a bid include former state party chairman Allen Weh, Albuquerque public relations executive Doug Turner, and former U.S. Rep. Heather Wilson.
On the Democratic side, Lt. Gov. Diane Denish is running for the party's nomination.
