WINKLER COUNTY - A couple of former Winkler County nurses now have some big support after they were arrested and charged with misusing official documents.
On Thursday, the State and National Nurses Associations are spoke out against Winkler County.
Officials with the American Nurses Association say the County Attorney is wrong for prosecuting Anne Mitchell and Vicki Galle.
The two former nurses allegedly sent private patient files to the State medical board supposedly in an attempt to harm a doctor.
It's a felony charge, but national nursing officials say the two were filing a complaint against the doctor in order to make sure their patients are kept safe.
The Texas Nurses Association has set up a legal defense fund to help the two.
If convicted, they could face up to ten years and a ten thousand dollar fine.
