DAWSON COUNTY - Just 2 days after the first case of swine flu was confirmed in West Texas, state health officials are now saying, there is a second.
The two confirmed West Texas cases of swine flu are in neighboring counties.
The first was in Andrews County earlier this week, and the second on Friday in Dawson County.
Health officials are not releasing many details on this second case, not even the person's age or sex.
This second confirmed case comes on the heels of two more swine flu related deaths reported in Texas.
According to the El Paso Department of Public Health, a pregnant 24-year-old woman, and a 42-year-old man, died in the hospital, earlier this month.
Those deaths brings the total number of fatalities in the State to 5.
Reports from the Department of Health Services say, there are almost 1,500 confirmed cases of swine flu in Texas.
There is some good news to tell. The Centers for Disease Control says a swine flu vaccine could be available as soon as October.
