SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Former Santa Fe Municipal Judge Tom Fiorina is in jail for not paying child support of $13,500.
State District Judge Stephen Pfeffer ordered the 70-year-old Fiorina to be jailed for up to three months. No bail is set on the civil contempt order.
Fiorina was not available for comment.
As Santa Fe's municipal judge for 13 years, Fiorina was known for dismissing parking tickets for those who donated turkeys and other foods for distribution to the needy at Thanksgiving.
Fiorina lost his position in 1996 to Fran Gallegos after he was cited for judicial irregularities and three court clerks accused him of sexual harassment.
Fiorina disputed the charges, but the city paid settlements to the women.
