ODESSA, TX (KWES) - The Odessa Development Corporation has launched a new marketing tool-a podcast.
It’s the brainchild of their Director of Economic Development, Wesley Burnett.
“Well the ODC wanted to get the message out to Odessa and the community about who we are and what we’re doing and the great things that are happening in Odessa, and we’ve been looking at different ways to do that,” said Burtnett.
The idea came to him thanks to a state group he is a part of. The board does a regular podcast, and he thought it would be a new thing for Odessa to try.
Burtnett also shared that when he was younger he once worked in radio, so he wasn’t really intimidated by hosting the podcasts.
“That was kinda the idea behind [the] Opportunity Odessa podcast, just doing a casual conversation with Wes about great things happening in Odessa”, stated Burnett.
He went on to explain topics and guests that he has had on previous shows. Guests have included Rick Napper, President and CEO of Medical Center Hospital, Dr. Sandra Woodley, the President of UTPB and Dr. Greg Williams, the President of Odessa College.
The podcast covers a wide variety of topics but all are focused on how the topic fits into the economic development and prosperity that is happening in Odessa.
